We really enjoyed going to the Taipei Zoo! It's so much better than the San Diego zoo. The habitats are bigger and more natural and the animals are a lot more lively. We went twice and it wasn't crowded either time. The best part is the admission is only NT $60, which is about $2 American! Quite different from paying over $30 for the SD zoo.
They had a ton of animals. Our favorites were the lions, bears, hippos, pandas, and monkeys.

the hippos were getting their habitat cleaned so they were just hanging around |
They had a lot of...interesting...signs and facts about poop. They call it "poop art."

Notice the "splash effect" this is showing how poo is recycled. |

So basically the zoo and other places have a lot of uses for "poo" |

according to the sign the panda is "scent marking" his territory (these are not things we would have in the States) |

This is an elephant's rear end with lots of multicolored "poos" around it.
