Cold War Era Jet Plane at NTU: the F-100A Super Sabre

Absolutely awesome. Can't see this in the States every day... unless you live near a military plane graveyard. We don't know why this plane is here, but it's this old combat plane. F-100A Super Sabre apparently.

Side entry to NTU campus.

Campus is pretty big and there are some cool park areas. This place is especially cool at night with owls and bats and stuff.

The old "Hun" (short for hundred).

Me inspecting the plane. Where are the guns?!?!

It's always the awesomest thing seeing a plane's call numbers in military type! Reminds me of old MS 08th team episodes.

I found a Youtube video uploaded by NTU students about this plane by searching the AF serial number. Apparently this plane flew for theTaiwanese ROCAF.

Is that the pilot's name?

As we approached the plane from behind from about 200 meters, I could just barely make out the shape of a plane in the distance. And I thought, wow wouldn't be cool if it were an old combat plane? Surprise, surprise, you live in Taiwan now.

Absolutely BADASS!

Ahhhhh... it really is the everyday, little, interesting, non-tourist attraction things that make it worth living abroad.
